Minutes of Meeting
February 7, 2024

Business
Meeting called to order by Geetha Padaki at 7:03 pm
The minutes of Jan 24th’s meeting were reviewed, corrected, and approved unanimously.
Patriots’ Day Planning
The stakeholder meeting will be held 2/15/2024. Everyone is welcome in person or
online.
o Glen shared the meeting agenda on screen. Logistical leader Steve Cole. We will
consider adding additional restrooms/porta-potties.
o From the Lexington Minute Men, the reenactment will be altered: instead of
women running after the dead and injured, it will show civilian evacuation.
Youth Parade: Bonnie Karshbaum prepared a draft of invitations to youth organizations,
including police, Minute Men, and fire department. Some parade units can be awarded
and recognized in the afternoon parade.
Ceremony: Everything is fine for the expected Masters of Ceremonies. Lexington Minute
Men will present an award/scholarship this year. Todd Angilly, The Voice of the Boston
Bruins, will sing the national anthem.
Grand Marshal recommendation: 9 members voted for Jeff, Leonard and 4 for Jim Shaw.
Jeff Leonard will be our first choice. Steve Cole volunteered to contact Jeff Leonard, and
ask him to be the Grand Marshal.
Lex250 updates by Cerise
Lex250 will establish a guideline for VIP tickets
The town hired a PR firm to take over all PR activities.
Purchased four life-size fiberglass horses: an artistic project themed as riding through
history.
The town intends to invite the British Royal Family. It will be voted on in the spring town
meeting. (the town of Concord has invited former President Obama).
Memorial Day Preliminary Planning
Geetha went through last year’s tasks and schedule. The earliest task is to set up flags on
Battle Green in April.
We would like to have a preliminary planning meeting in March: Geetha, Ashley, Linda,
Sue.
We will add a music festival with historical content. We have already contacted Jeff
Leonard, who will help.
Sandy will check whether portrait artist Gina Johnson will be available to display her
portraits of fallen soldiers at the Masonic Lodge.
Parade working group meeting: next Wednesday.
