The minutes of May 3 were approved. The next meeting will be on May 17, 2017 in the Parker Room, Town Office Building. Lorain noted that all requests for payment by the Patriots Day parade units have been approved for payment and are being processed by the Town. Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017 Lorain reviewed and confirmed the responsibilities listed in the May 3 minutes. Lorain reviewed the timeline for the Memorial Day activities and ceremonies. Cerise noted that Mark Gallagher, brother of Philip Gallagher who was killed in Vietnam, might participate in the activities. Kim noted that the High School singer for the ceremonies is still undetermined. Lorain reported that she has contacted the Selectmen to ask that one of them speak at the ceremonies on the Green. She also noted that there will be a speaker from Hanscom AFB. Lorain reviewed the Program of the Day. Sandy Podgorski noted that there is a memorial plaque at the town pool in memory of Dinesh H. Rajbhandary, US Army 82nd AA, Grenada, and asked if a wreath should be placed there also. The committee decided not to. Paul Jenkins will carry the speaker system for the parade instead of Wayne Miller. The speaker system should be picked up at the Visitors Center on Sunday. Dawn McKenna confirmed to Lorain that the system will be ready on Sunday. In the case of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled and the ceremony will be held at Cary Hall at 10 am. The decision to cancel the parade will be made the day before The committee discussed how to post the cancellation notice, if needed. It was suggested that the notice should be posted to the Lexington List, in addition to the Town website.
