A walk through of the property and meeting with the PBC th took place on May 11. Budget Preparations for the end of the fiscal year are underway. Capital & Facilities The Conservation Committee has approved the Friends of Lincoln Lights application. The bid documents are scheduled to be available in late May. th The Adams Field project is now underway and work began on May 15. The Recreation Facilities and ADA Compliance Study Golf st Wednesday, May 31: USGA site visit at Pine Meadows. Community Center Youth & Family Services Family Fun Nights: o May, BINGO sold out with 10 families. Swim tag was given as the grand prize o June, Family Feud already sold out with 10 families registered th LEXpress middle school event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17. 10 students from each school will take the transit to the LexCC to hang out and eat pizza th Early Release Field Trip to Kimball Farm, May 18 sold out with 40 students from each school Parent/child ping pong last day of the tournament will be this Saturday. Events th Quilt Show on Thursday, May 18. We are committed to providing active and passive leisure opportunities that are education, fun and life-enriching. The Department promotes participation by all Lexington residents in safe, accessible and well-maintained facilities. 2 Reading Corner a combination of books tagged for the library book sale and private donations have been added to the cart in room 108. We currently have accumulated 65 Recreation st Summer program registration began on Monday, May 1 and is off to a strong start. The department took in just over $57,000 in revenue on the first day of registration. th The annual Bike Smart program was held on Saturday, May 13 at the Community Center. This event is offered in partnership with the Bicycle Advisory Committee, the Friends of Lexington Bikeways, and the Police Department. The summer staff for Aquatics, Camps & Clinics, and Tennis has been finalized. The th Aquatics staff orientation is on Thursday, May 25 and the Camps/Clinics/Tennis staff th orientation will be held on Saturday, June 17. While all paid positions have been filled, staff are currently meeting with volunteer applicants to determine which programs th The Tennis Booth opened for the season on Saturday, May 13. The Tennis Booth, located at the Town Pool on Worthen Road, is where residents can make tennis court reservations and purchase a tennis ID card or swim tags. Save the Dates th Saturday, May 27 Noam Watt, an Eagle Scout candidate, will be constructing a Gaga Ball pit at the Center Recreation Complex (next to the playground). Gaga Ball is a modified version of dodgeball. th Saturday, May 27 Discovery Day from 10am-3pm. Members of the Recreation Committee are invited to attend and assist at the Rec & CP booth rd June 3: Town Pool Complex and Old Reservoir open for the season 3 Park Report Chris Filadoro We have begun the pool opening All fields have been fertilized for the spring Crews are out edging and grading some of the varsity ball fields We will be aerating and slice seeding several fields over the next 2 weeks as part of our turf program Irrigation is still being turned on for the season Crews are trying to keep up with mowing and the ballfields 4
