Reports/Updates:
Peggy will go to the May 10 Planning Board meeting regarding 0 Grove St.
Bike Walk Bus Week commuter breakfast is May 19. We should have handouts for
ACROSS.
Discovery Day also needs ACROSS handouts. Keith will speak with Jordan about tables.
The Open Space map online includes the ACROSS routes.
• June 17 is The Longest Day Alzheimer’s walk coordinated by Jeanne Kreiger. It will be
based at the Depot and will use ACROSS routes, but we don’t have any specific responsibili-
ties.
• May 11 is a meeting with the Weston open space team and Emily Schadler. They are inter-
ested in creating an ACROSS type program in Weston.
• As we do route signage repairs, letters should go on the Arrow signs, not the Logo signs
(most of the time).
Ongoing Business:
• Route H - Four of the posts are in already. A couple of locations are still to be decided for
sure, but there are about three more to be installed. Don is available, and Keith is here for 3
more weeks.
• Keith has communicated with Shelley Chamberlain at Coppersmyth Way about signage
there.
• Stump Grinding and Boulder moving at the Lincoln St intersection still need to happen.
New Business:
• Transportation Forum - Mal, Mike, & Peggy all attended. Dave Kucharsky is working
on prioritizing sidewalks. Smart School signs may be going up in some areas. Later in May
there will be some events focussing on safer streets and walkable communities.
• GCC still needs a Recreation liaison
• Board of Selectmen Goal Setting Memo - looking at funding trail maintenance for non-
Conservation properties such as the Laconia St school property. Jordan would like to increase
weekend ranger hours. Discussion of goals from 2015 & 2016; most of 2015 goals have been
met. Due date mid-June.
• Michelson’s Shoe Store is interested in sponsoring a fundraising trail race.
• The 128 Business Council will fund a bike/ped map for outdoor activity, but it is unclear
at present who will coordinate, or just what will be on the map. GCC should stay focussed on
ACROSS.
