WELCOME - Chairperson a. Introduction 2. REPORTS a. Secretary's Report i. Approval of March minutes; Lynne motioned to approve, Mark second b. Treasurer's Report i. Update on reimbursements, current account balance. State $7223($1500 yet to be claimed from last year's cycle) / Local $3236 - Please update based on Amy's input. ii. Granite Forest project reimbursement process update- Approved by Laurie (accounting) via memo issued by Seetha. David Williams will provide further details on project for Council to share around town iii. Update on grant money not yet claimed from 2015-16 : $250 Lexington Historical Society, $500 Munroe Saturday Nights, $200 Wax Wings Aedipus Cycle, $100 PityTheater Company, iv. VOG - $500 grant will be received from First Parish/David Green to be award by Council to a local "breakthrough" artist V. Laurel will check with Cristina Burwell to see if there are reimbursements needed for parade sign c. Grants Report i. Received new reimbursements to be signed and processed ii. Attendance/sign up for Grant winners performances by Council members iii. Kathleen Rowe, Watershed project date moved to May 4th (7pm) at Cary Library iv. Need to regroup on minimum allocation for grants next year's cycle. This year, 2 projects are a no go post grant allocation due to lack of additional funding - Walden Shakespeare and Solar Winds (Lynne suggests next grant cycle we make the minimum higher to reduce unclaimed funds) d. Communications Report i. Website: www.lexartscouncil.ora - any additions/corrections? Need listing of 2016-17 approved events to post. Faith will work on post. ii. Lexington Minuteman article sent, also to Town Calendar contact - will resend based on presentation iii. Reminder - Grant reception plans - confirmed by Seetha after speaking with Elaine Ashton (President, East Lex Association President) for May 21 st at 1 pm (Stone Building, formerly East Lex Library). iv. All members welcome to write reviews on art events and potentially share on personal social media accounts 3. NEW BUSINESS a. New Initiatives i. Invited Guest - Laura Lapointe - "Hug for Lexington" initiative to help LHS students cope with stress and disappointment based on recent news (ref: NYT article) ; long discussion about potential solutions through art ii. Parade Highlights - Lynne, Laurel, Mark iii. Arts Advocacy Day/Mass Creative - attended by Seetha, Lynne, Cristina, Laurel, Mark on March 28th in Boston. 1 of 2 iv. Voices on the Green - continuing discussions with Artepreneurs concept -March 9th @10:30 with Regie in Via Lago. Potential kickoff venue space, the A Loft, for all Lexington artists. Target date July 10-14. TBD V. Shadaj, 501-C a Lexington based Non profit, classical Indian music appreciation, Amy motions to make $50 donation, Lynne seconds. Rebecca suggests adding their link to the Google group b. 2016-17 Projects: i. Discovery Day (Memorial Day w/e) - discuss who/what needs to be there. Should we tag on to LACS again this year?May 27th, come up with ideas for favors. Seetha will volunteer time that day. Jean has offered to help design the bookmark/calendar for distribution at both Discovery Day and Grantee Reception ii. Dimmock Award Update - confirmed for May 17th, LHS and organized by Mr. Jeff Leonard. Laurie will arrange for $200 check/cash to be available that morning. c. 2016-17 Donors & Membership strategy. Social media advertising - Item tabled due to attendance Seetha reaching out to Jessie to be present for a deeper discussion OLD BUSINESS (review) a. PIR Update b. ArtsOffroad - not in 2017, but hoping to be in association with the 25th anniversary of Minuteman Bikeway in 2016 (some other groups are interested in this: Arlington LCC (rumour), Arlington Arts Center, Lexington Bikeways Committee. 6.
