Minutes of the meeting held at the offices of LexHAB at 1620 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington on
March 23, 2017
Those present at the meeting the
Vice-chairman, Bob Burbidge, Lester Savage, Donna Leary, Martha Wood, Bill Hays and Bill Kennedy via
phone. Also present were Patricia Nelson.
Not present was Henry Liu and Gerry Howell.
The Vice- chairman presided.
The meeting opened at 7:06 a.m.
1. Minutes
The minutes for the meeting on February 2017 were approved as presented.
2. Financials
No Financial report given.
2A. Maryann Boswell from LEXRAP came before the board to discuss her organizations commitment to
refugees and finding them homes, helping them with language and tutoring etc. She spoke about their
fund raising and how the community has been very supportive. She also wanted to say Thank you to
LexHAB.
2B.Metro West, not much has changed since our last meeting. A few administrative items and we should
be ready to file.
We are adjusting the handicap accessible unit.
There will be a meeting on April 7tn
2C. No task force meetings to report on this month.
3. Busa Farm
We submitted a sample RFQ to Jeffrey Driscoll and are waiting to hear back from him to see if he has
changes or suggestions.
A. 4. Fairview
4A. Old house is rolling right along, it is in the process of being plastered, heating system is working,
Water is on, fully insulated, and the trim out work for the interior is being done.
4B. The New house has plumbing fixtures, lower level and upper level are fully plastered, fully trimmed
out, and the exterior is buttoned up. Middle unit is having modifications made.
Motion made and seconded to transfer funds to Cambridge Trust for the purpose of paying Fairview
invoices, all in favor and the motion passed.
5. Wright Farm
Discussions about using the Minuteman Tech kids to do some of the renovations. A motion was made
and seconded to use the Minuteman Tech students for Wright Farm, all in favor and the motion was
passed.
6. Keeler Farm None at this time
7. Leary
No report given at this time.
8. Garfield Restrictions
Garfield will remain permanently on the SHI List.
9. Next Meeting
The next meeting of the LexHAB Board, will be held at the LexHAB offices at 1620 Massachusetts
Avenue in Lexington at 7 a.m. on April 27th, 2017
10. Executive Session
The chairman then proposed that the Board go into executive session to consider Real Estate matters,
stating that consideration of same in open session could have a detrimental effect on the negotiating
position of a semi-public body, namely LexHAB, and might also affect adversely the privacy rights of
tenants and that the Board not return open session at the end except to adjourn.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:25 am.
