The Chair reported that a quorum was present.
The minutes of the meeting of January 25, 2017 were approved.
The next meeting will be February 22, 2017.
Veteran Carl Davis sent a very nice thank you note for the complimentary service portrait and group
photo he received after the Veterans Breakfast. The group thought we should find a way to display
this kind of testimonial. Linda will ask town webmaster Kathy Santos to design a page with a link
off the TCC Committee web page to contain such letters.
Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017
Lorain will send an application to the Tony Barrie band.
The William Diamond Fife and Drum Corps will not be participating in the a.m. Parade.
Sandy handed out a draft copy of the new Patriots Weekend Schedule to be distributed at the
Stakeholders meeting now scheduled for Monday, February 13.
Sondra spent the weekend calling all units who have not yet submitted parade applications. Her
efforts brought in several more responses, bringing our current total to 26 units.
Cerise has received the printed tickets for the auto tags, wristbands, bleacher seating, etc. for the
reenactment and afternoon parade.
Tee shirts for Parade Ambassadors: Linda will give Kim the count and sizes of the remaining shirts
and she and Kim will compile a new order for this year’s crew.
Lorain reviewed the parade checklist and task assignments.
The group noted that many Town officials do not leave the parade when they reach the reviewing
stand (they are supposed to be visible on the reviewing stand and review the marching units as they
pass by). Instead, they continue marching to the end of the parade. We will bring this up at the
Stakeholders meeting and request that they occupy the reviewing stand.
Before Paul orders the banner for our Grand Marshal Coach Bill Tighe, Lorain will check whether
we already have one on hand, ordered and unused from Memorial Day 2016.
Approval of Applications
No Fee (14 Units)
The Committee approved the following parade units with no fee involved:

referred them to the Town Manager for resolution.
Fee Requested (10 Units) – Same as 2016
The Committee approved the following units and fees that represented no change from 2016:
13th Massachusetts Infantry (Civil War)
Boston Windjammers
Hallamore Clydesdales
Lexington High School Parade Band
Lexington Firefighters Honor Guard
Middlesex County Volunteers Fife and Drum
Roma Band
Sudbury Ancient Fyfe and Drum Companie
Waltham American Legion Trolley Band
Worcester Fire Brigade Fifes and Drums
Tabled for Further Action (2 Units)
His Majesty’s 10th Regiment of Foot requested an increase over last year. Lorain will make a counter
offer with a modest increase and report back.
The New England Whalers are a new group and we have very little information on them. They are
associated with the Boston Windjammers, who were in the 2016 parade and have applied again this
year. We need to learn more before we can consider their application.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Dixon, Co-Secretary
