1 PM in Town Hall, Room 111
The meeting was called to order at 1:14 PM. Members present were Dot Boggia,
Chaii man, Leo McSweeney. Dick Michelson. Sheldon Spector, Dan Fenn, Aurio Pierro
and Ann Webster. Members absent were Marie Hill, Charlie Price, David Williams and
Beverly Kelley.
This is the first of two meetings this year.
Minutes of the April 2, 2012 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Ann Webster, the newest member of the committee, was introduced and welcomed. Ann
is fulfilling the vacancy of retired member Lodia Parilla. Ann will be sworn in at a later
date. Sheldon Spector is retiring also. Both Lodia and Sheldon were original members
of the committee and we thank them both for their many years of dedicated service. Dot
Boggia announced she will be retiring from the chairmanship after this year. Possible
new committee members include Susan O'Keefe and Chris Venier.
Dick Michelson has made arrangements for the presentation of the 2013 Cane recipient to
be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 7 PM at Cary Hall prior to the start of Town
Meeting. This presentation will also include the White Tricorn Hat and the Youth Award
recipients. Everyone is invited. The Cane recipient will also be honored as usual during
the Patriot's Day parade on Sunday, April 14. The reception for all three award
recipients will be held Sunday. April 21, 2013 from 2-4 PM at the Depot. The Lions
Club and the FCOA will again share the costs of, and the manpower for, the party.
The meeting adjourned at 1:46.
These minutes were typed up by Beverly Kelley but I was not at the meeting. Dot
Boggia kept the minutes of this meeting as I wasabsent. They were obtained by me via
phone conversation with Dot Boggia on March 26, 2013.
