The report will be sent to the Steering Committee members who will th need to approve and return the report to Candy by the 20 of December. As discussed at the last meeting, the Working Groups’ action items are tracked back to the report. All ‘high priority’ items were identified and linked to the appropriate theme. There was some discussion over whether it was appropriate to include these links to everyone or just to the Working Group members. It was decided that the links would be provided in Volume II with a sentence or two in Volume I indicating their availability. Road Show Planning The first step in the Road Show is the kick-off presentation to the three boards on January nd 22. The printing should be done before Christmas with approximately 50 copies made of Volume II and 639 copies of Volume I. Volume I will be mailed to all Working Group and CPG members, Town Meeting members, Boards and Committees and community organizations. Additionally, electronic copies will be available via the Town’s website. It is expected that the primary method of dissemination will be electronic. The committee then moved on to discuss the creation of a 2020 Vision Fact Sheet. The purpose of this fact sheet is to announce that the 2020 Vision Report is available. It was suggested that the Fact Sheet also mention the five themes briefly. There was some uncertainty about where the Fact Sheet would be published – should it be a separate mailing, etc. It was decided that it would be put in the Selectmen’s Newsletter in February if one is produced. Draft Survey The draft of the survey produced by Tony was distributed to the Steering Committee members for their review and comment. Some members offered suggestions including: Question 10 needed some work There should be more questions in the attitude section – approximately 20 to 25 total. Questions should be neutral – although it was acknowledged that only questions that demonstrate a particular point of view or attitude will garner citizen response. The Steering Committee agreed that the importance of the survey should not be underestimated. For many citizens, the survey will be their only exposure to the 2020 Vision process experienced. It is important to ensure that all five themes will be covered in the survey. Because of the large number of questions the Committee had about the survey, it was decided to hold off on any further discussion until Tony was present. However, the Committee wished to formally express its thanks to Tony and his company for the work they have and will continue to put in on this project. The Steering Committee adjourned until the next meeting on January 12, 2001.
