Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the July 13 meeting were approved.
Education Subcommittee Report.
Ellie handed out the questions the Ed SC used in its
interview with Joanne Benton on Sept. 14. The IC commented on the questions, Ms.
Benton’s responses, and other issues/topics the IC might want to focus on. The Ed SC
members will write a report on their observations for Ms. Benton.
Comprehensive Plan.
Tom gave an update on the comprehensive planning process.
This process builds on much of the work of 2020 Vision
Operations Subcommittee Report.
There was consensus on the statement of purpose
proposed by the OS. Candy reported major areas of discussion from the last OS meeting.
One was how to integrate new issues into the larger 2020 Vision context. Another was
how to turn the report into something measurable across the board to give the community
reports of progress toward the desired future state. Finally, the question was raised
whether 2020 vision can become a vehicle for healing community conflict.
Communications with the Public.
The committee needs to write an article for the
minuteman before the next meeting.
