Cary Hall Memorial Building Estabrook Hall, (lower level) 1605 Massachusetts Avenue Lexington, MA 02420 Board of Health Members in Attendance: Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Chair, John J. Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, served as Chair Person. Director Cody discussed the Flu Clinic results for 2016-2017. It was noted that over 2,000 residents were vaccinated this season. The Environmental Health report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed; Beijing Restaurant Maureen Lee, Food Safety Consultant, and Frances Feng of Beijing met with the BOH to discuss the food safety audit for November. After some discussion, Burt Perlmutter, MD., proposed a motion that stated, “Based on the report provided by Maureen Lee, Food Consultant, Beijing is not required to attend the January or February Board of Health meetings as previously ordered to review Food Safety Audits. Although Beijing has demonstrated compliance over the past two months, it is the expectation of the Lexington Board of Health that Beijing will continue to comply with the Food Code requirements. Otherwise, further administrative action, including fines or suspension of a permit to operate the Beijing Food Establishment may become necessary.” John J. Flynn, seconded the motion, all were in favor. Prime Roast Beef and Seafood, Ganesh Sedhain, owner, met with the BOH to discuss a Food Plan Review, and request an Annual Food Establishment Permit. After some discussion, John J. Flynn, proposed a motion that stated, “The Lexington Board of Health grants an Annual Permit to Operate a Food Establishment to Prime Pizza & Subs upon a successful completion of a pre-operational inspection.” Burt Perlmutter, MD., seconded the motion, all were in favor. Mark Sandeen, of Sustainable Lexington Committee, met with the board to discuss energy efficiency, and green buildings, in the construction of the school buildings in Lexington. The Board reviewed the State Sanitary Code Case for 6 Churchill Lane; the status remains unchanged, and the deadline for repairing violations is December. See minutes from October 2016 for further information. 24B Greeley Village; After corrective action by the Lexington Housing Authority, and additional complaints by the tenant, the Office of Public Health sent a letter to the MDPH Bureau of Indoor Air Quality to request an inspection of the property. The report has not been received by the Office of Public Health. 7 Graham Road; the status remains unchanged. See minutes from October 2016 for further information. The Emergency Preparedness report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed. The Director of Emergency Management and Safety Officer for CHA, has reached out to the members of the five core disciplines to provide an introduction to CHA, and to anticipate next steps as the Region 4AB HMCC continues to develop. Burt Perlmutter, MD., motioned that the meeting be adjourned and Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, seconded. All were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 9:02 PM. It was noted that the next meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2017
