Discussion about access through private ways. Who should contact abut- ters ?Should it be via letter, phone, door - knock? Further discussion re: paper streets, and abutters w /in 100' • Route F extension - Eileen contacted John Livsey in Engineering, has had no response. She will follow up in August or early September (next GCC mtng is 9/26). Further discussion about various route options. Peggy brought up the Transportation Safety board and we dis- cussed the Lincoln St. sidewalk • 0 (227) Grove St, the large Carchia parcel, has been brought before the Planning Board as a possible development project. Keith has spoken with John Farrington, the lawyer for the de- veloper. A "balanced housing" project would give GCC a better option for maintaining trail ac- cess than a by -right building project, which would give the Town no say in building locations. Planning Board can probably only require trails for use by development homeowners, not public. Eileen will keep tabs on this over the summer. There are wetlands on the site, and the Planning Board is already involved as is the Conservation Commission, and the Stewards have concerns as well. Bill Cohn from NEMBA is also involved. The next Planning Board hearing will be August at the earliest. • The Shire Trail is coming along, having had one big building day already. The next sched- uled work day is in October, but the weekday Stewards may get more done before then. • The Concord Ave /Brookhaven connection to the Water Tower is pretty much in the hands of the Montessori School at the moment. Keith will keep working with the Brookhaven folks to connect to Lot 1 and Concord Ave. There will be a site visit July 30. It would be good to have Conservation Commission support for a request submittal to DCR. DCR needs to lend sup- port, but it may take a long time. Pending Items: • MARTAB workshop - there is general interest in putting together a presentation for the next conference. Keith will find out the theme. • There is a proposed zoning bylaw change that would enhance subdivision trail access. This would make the Town even more walk /bike friendly. GCC would like to help Zoning & Plan- ning Boards encourage that. We should bring ideas to Aaron Henry in the Planning Dept. In terms of "unaccepted" streets, perhaps the Town should be more proactive in this area. At present it waits for landowners to request street acceptance. New Business: • none (summer recess) Next Meeting: September 26, 2016, 4:30- 6:OOpm, location TBD Future meeting dates: Oct 24, Nov 28, Dec 19 Future Agenda Items: None at this time beyond continued trail investigation and development Respectfully Submitted by Alexandra Dohan, Secretary
