Approve Minutes from October 24, 2016 -Approved 2. Estabrook School Improvement Plan Progress Update -School Improvement plan for 2017-2018 already being considered -Academic Goal: *Literacy team have been moving ahead strongly in use of tools and technology to support learners. *Robotics program going strong- Lexington Minuteman is running an article related to Lexington Police Dept. coming to visit to educate students first hand what robotics look like in action. *Maker Space is formally open to faculty next Monday with an overview of the space. *Reading as our core homework plan- continue to see minimal impact conversationally around this plan. Our goal was to see reduction in stress and non change to academic performance. Meeting with district to analyze success of homework plan, including surveys and score analysis, focus group with faculty, and focus group with parents. Homework plan success will be summarized by the end of the school year. Estabrook's final assessment of the new homework plan will not directly impact the district homework plan outcomes. However, our anecdotal notes will support the district in making their decision. *Principal Roundtable was successful. *Co -Teaching model continues to progress. -Social-Emotional Goal *Digital Citizenship meeting with parents next Wednesday for coaching families around monitoring/appropriate use of technology. *Faculty and community education continues. LEF to fund Jessica Lahey, The Gift of Failure. She will come the third week of March for a community event, including staff with shift of meeting times. Goal to have date for the event in place by the end of the calendar year. Professional endeavor to engage in a faculty book analysis. -Safety Goal *ALICE/REMS "table -top" training for faculty will take place the first Thursday we return from winter break (first week in January). Prior to meeting there will be a meeting with the school's Child Safety Team to discuss planning the training. The team will be meeting with the district coordinator to discuss protocol. Faculty will learn about appropriate steps to take in a crisis. *Parking lot continues to be a safe, successful space for students and the community. Continue to see a much smoother flow during dismissal plan, with live pick-up finished around 3:30. *2 weeks ago we added a seventh school bus to our route to support Estabrook with the highest percentage of bus riders in the district. Addition of the bus supports after school program transportation and has also lowered the amount of students riding each bus. 3. Consideration of School Committee, District and Superintendent Goals *Read District Improvement Plan to ensure that plans/goals are aligned. *Aligned with: homework plan, safety protocols with ALICE training, social -emotional goals, RTI *Ideas for next year: NGSS, work around dyslexia, *Proposal for timetable shift around new school year's Improvement Plan made by school principals after the school year closes. *Big idea: keep documents at the top of the mind to stay in sync with the district. 4. Meeting Schedule: 1/23, 2/27,3/27,5/1, 6/12 *Agenda for next meeting will reflect what is most needed by 1/23. Committee invited to add items/topics to the agenda.
