Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, January 12t 1, 2017
Members Present: William Thomas, Peter Lawrence, Jack Mitchell, Courtney Walsh, Thomas
Barry, Joseph Lahiff, Rachel Michelson, Hadar Boker, Meghan Buschini, Nicholas
Newton -Cheh, Emma Donigan, Nachiyappan Solaiyappan, Lucas DiCerbo, Bess Lawrence,
Millie Landis, Katherine Gehring, Michael Swift, Anthony Marbardy, Charles Marbardy. Deb
Hankins, Shannon DeGuglielmo, and Kristina Hankins.
Members Absent: Avery Gehring, Annie Reilly, Mitchell Heyda, Jimmy Lane, Venuri DeSilva,
Ganga Nair, Alia Rizvi, Ishaan Khurana, Sean Maloney, Doug Lucente, Karen Duprey, and Joe
Hankins
1. The December Minutes were read and approved.
2. We recapped the holiday fundraising, we made a total of $2024 and bought gift cards for
100 kids. Thanks to an extremely generous anonymous donation, the gift cards were in
$60 denominations.
3. We discussed our February event, the Valentines Day Senior Luncheon on February 14th,
11:50 am - 100 pm which will be held at the Community Center. You will be serving
lunch and talking with the seniors, lunch will also be provided for you. Those who've
said they can go are Will, Peter, Jack, Courtney, Joe, Rachel, Hadar, Meghan, Nick,
Emma, Nachi, Lucas, Bess, Millie, Anthony, and Charles. Tommy, Mike, and Katherine
are maybes. We have Joe, Rachel, and Will for drivers. If you are a maybe or have not
yet responded, please let Will or Jack know if you can attend ASAP especially if you
can legally drive others.
4. T Shirts, we still have 5 tee shirts, if you have not gotten your shirt please contact Deb
Hankins to make arrangements to pick up ASAP. We still have members who have not
paid, if you have not paid for your t- shirts see myself, Will or Peter. We need to
settle the books as soon as possible.
5. We discussed possible float ideas for the 2017 Patriots day parade. We have three groups
that will bring more detailed ideas to the next meeting. Tommy, Nick, and Lucas will be
working on "space ", Mike and Nachi will be working on "Race Car ", Hadar and Emma
will be working on "Clock ", and Shannon will be working on "The Giving Tree ". If you
are not part of one of these groups, please feel free to reach out and help them.
6. We began a discussion about recruitment for next year, recruitment is coming up soon so
please start thinking of people who would make good LYC members. Applications will
be available at the next meeting for you to distribute.
7. Finally, we met the Student Resource Officer who will be joining us as part of LYC from
now on, she will be attending the meetings and acting as a resource and liaison to the
police department.
