1) Town Report
Committee members reviewed the draft Town Report and made edits to the draft. Chair, Dawn
McKenna noted committee changes and made edits to the report. Committee members suggested edits
include adding statistics such as people counter data in the Visitors' Center, Liberty Ride ridership and
clarification on the "multiplier effect." Committee members discussed the committee charge.
2) Tourism Committee Operations — Staff Updates
Megan Zammuto updated the committee on the Liberty Ride hiring process, and a recent Greater
Merrimack Convention and Visitors Bureau survey.
3) Updates & Miscellaneous
Dawn McKenna gave the committee an update on several capital projects. Town staff has decided not to
coat the Minuteman Statue with a sealing agent. They will continue to thoroughly clean the statue. The
public works staff is also working on the Battle Green Master Plan and Antony Park. The Visitors'
Center is on the list of potential capital projects for the Town, however it is listed as unlikely to move
forward this year.
4) Committee Marketing Strategy
The committee discussed their role in tourism marketing with the operational tasks transferring to Town
staff The committee discussed their role in promoting and organizing events. The conversation also led
to the future of Revolutionary Revelry. The committee reviewed costs and attendance and discussed the
future of the program. Several members were interested in promoting events that are organized by other
partners in Lexington. Dawn McKenna asked the committee to think about the future of tourism in
Lexington, as well as their thoughts on Revolutionary Revelry. The goal is to take a vote to continue or
discontinue the program at the next meeting. The committee also discussed the role of public art in
Lexington. Many events that had the most energy include the public pianos, arts event etc.
5) Minutes
The committee reviewed the minutes from meetings held on May 12th, May 26th, June 14th and October
5th.

A Motion was made to approve the minutes from meetings held on May 12th, May 26th, June 14th and
October 5th. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved.
