HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-05-26-TOUR2-minTown of Lexington Tourism Committee Dawn McKenna, Chair (781) 862 -0500 ext 84585 Draft Minutes Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 4:00 — 5:30 pm Parker Room (Lower level Town Office Building) Members Present: Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fai ick, Trisha Kennealy, Dawn McKenna, Wim Nijenberg Staff Present: Masha Traber, Megan Zammuto Members Absent: Marsha Baker, Leeying Wu, Margaret Coppe, Jon Himmel 1) Minutes The committee reviewed three sets of minutes from meetings held on February 11th, March 31st, and April 25th. A motion was made to approve the Minutes of February 11th, March 31', , and April 25th. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. 2) Goal Setting The committee reviewed the goals that were approved at the May 12th meeting. A motion was made to approve the final language of the memo to the Board of Selectmen regarding committee goals. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. 3) Marketing The committee discussed marketing, and the importance of using the Linger in Lexington logo with our partners. 4) Tourism Committee Operations — Staff Update Megan Zammuto attended the Battle Road Byway meeting. She will begin attending these meetings and plans to report back to the Tourism Committee. 5) Updates & Miscellaneous Jon Himmel is officially the designee from the Tourism Committee on the Center Streetscape Committee. Trisha Kennealy announced that The Inn at Hastings Park will be in AAA Travel & Leisure, and it will also be on Chronicle. Public Works Director Dave Pinsonneault is working on tourism capital projects and he will give a status update towards the end of May. The committee discussed the monuments and memorials committee. The committee also discussed inviting facilities to come to he June meeting to discuss the Visitors Center. Adjourned at approximately 5:32 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Megan J.
