Vision for Lexington Committee Meeting
December 15, 2023

The meeting was called to order: 7:49 am

Minutes:
The approval of minutes from October 27, 2023 was postponed to the next meeting.
Meeting Highlights:
VFL Website Report on Emails
Dan Joyner shared that there were no new emails from residents.
Reappointments to VFL:
New members Sara del Nido Budish and Ambilu Sivabalan were introduced.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity
Dan Joyner inquired about coordinating the programs and efforts of the various private groups in town.
He suggested making a list and keeping it up to date. Suggested sources of information were the
Secretary of State and Metro West.
Jill Hai shared the information about the recent lighting of the Menorah by the town at Emory Park.
Jonas Miller, new Director of Communications, was introduced
He is a local resident who has experience in other towns with local news. He has read the Vision for
Lexington’s Enhancing Communication in Lexington report and reported on which of the seven
recommendations have been acted on or in process. The committee asked if the Town Manager’s
weekly report to the Select Board could be made more widely available.
Update on Subcommittee on Voter Participation in Lexington
Margaret Coppe reported that this subcommittee will meet today at 10 AM. Items for its consideration
are a timeline, writing assignments, themes and voting data analysis.
Update on Subcommittee for Sharing Survey Information
John Giudice reported that the subcommittee at its most recent meeting decided that they needed to
put some more work into their draft report. He also noted the need for more regular reporting, perhaps
quarterly, on town initiatives. He noted concern about balancing putting out timely information against
overwhelming citizen’s inboxes.
