HomeMy WebLinkAboutPlanning Board Minutes, 1994-10-11 MINUTES OF THE JOINT MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD AND THE
CONSERVATION COMMISSION ON OCTOBER 11, 1994
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board and the Lexington Conservation Commission held in
Room G-15, Town Office Building, was called to order at 8:10 p.m. by Conservation Commission Vice
Chairman Robert Stewart, with Commission members Angela Frick, Lisa Baci, Richard Wolk, Philip
Hamilton, David Langseth, and Planning Board members Jacqueline Davison, Richard Canale, Edmund
Grant, and Robert Domnitz present.
***************** COORDINATION AMONG BOARDS, DEPARTMENTS ******************
The group discussed the interaction between conservation and subdivision requirements for building
projects that require the construction of new streets near wetlands. Often such projects cannot
simultaneously comply with both sets of requirements. There was no discussion of specific cases that
have come before either the Conservation Commission or the Planning Board.
The discussion focused on a 3-step procedure for dealing with development projects near wetlands:
1. Applicants would be advised to first seek a wetlands delineation from the Conservation
Commission.
2. Applicants would then be advised to obtain approval of a definitive subdivision plan from the
Planning Board.
3. Finally, applicants would be advised to obtain an order of conditions from the Conservation
Commission.
Those present agreed that shared site visits would be helpful. The Planning Board agreed that they
would welcome comments from the Conservation Commission regarding subdivision applications under
consideration.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:13 p.m.
