MEETING OF JUNE 29, 1992

Building, was called to order at 7 37 p.m. by Chairman Williams, with members

******************* PLANNING BOARD ORGANIZATION, SCHEDULE *******************
100 Meeting schedule for August. September The Board agreed on the
following schedule of meetings August 17 and 26; September 2, 16 and 30.
***************** ADMINISTRATION OF LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS ************
APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS
101. Lexington Ridge Mr. Bowyer reported that the decision of the Housing
Appeals Committee on the appeal of Lexington Ridge is an important victory for
the Town. The developer also filed an appeal in the courts some time ago,
however, and on Monday, July 6, there is a motion session in court. Having
HAC's decision in the Town's favor is a plus as it means that the state will
also be a defendant in the appeal in the courts
102 Brookhaven. The Board discussed the recent Board of Appeals decision
that Brookhaven of Lexington's proposed changes are minor and do not require a
public hearing. Concerned that with this reasoning a developer could come
back after 5 years and add to his project, they agreed to consider proposing
an amendment to the Zoning By-Law, to be considered by the 1993 Town Meeting
It would define minor revisions and the time period in which minor revisions
could be made.

graph 3 5.2. 1, Filing By Delivery or By Mail,on page 19 of the first draft
dated October 18, 1991, revised June 2, 1992. At the next meeting in which
the Board reviews the draft of the Development Regulations, the review will
resume with paragraph 3 5.2.2, Notice to Town Clerk, on page 19 of the first
draft dated October 18, 1991, revised June 2, 1992
************************ REGIONAL, INTERTOWN ISSUES *************************
104. Met State Hospital Mr Marino reported that Lexington, Belmont and
Waltham are writing a joint application through the Metropolitan Area Planning
Council,to the State Executive Office of Communities and Development, for a
Municipal Incentive Grant. The application asks for a grant to evaluate
possible uses of the Metropolitan State Hospital property after it is disposed
of by the State Mrs. Davison asked that the study specifically include the
buildings, to determine which are usable and which should be razed and why,
because most of them are on Lexington's part of the land
