RECOMMENDATIONS ON APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS
109. Hearings Scheduled for Mav 24. 1990 Mr. Williams gave an oral review
of the following applications:
20 Dewey Road, variance, to add a detached 2-car carport with a front
yard setback of 19 feet to the corner of the carport instead of the
required 30 feet. Mrs. Wood noted that it would seem that there would
be little more destruction either to land or to vegetation if the
carport were set back the required 30 feet, since it is not proposed to
be attached to the house, and that it is not essential for every house
to have a carport. On the motion of Mrs. Wood, seconded by Mr. Domnitz,
it was voted 4-0 to recommend the variance be denied since none of the
statutory criteria for granting a variance, relating to soil conditions,
shape or topography, has been demonstrated.
10 Muzzev Street, Amalia G. Samoylenko, appeal of the decision of the
Zoning Officer denying a building permit to renovate second floor space
at the Lexington Mews, because of failure to satisfy off-street parking
requirements of Section 11.1 2 of the Lexington Zoning By-Law The
Board noted that procedurally, this issue was resolved 4 years ago, and
the conditions remain unchanged. On the motion of Mr. Williams,
Minutes for the Meeting of April 30, 1900 2
(-Th seconded by Mr. Domnitz, it was voted 4-0 to support the position of the
