Attendance: Laura Lasa, John Murray, Suzanne Lau, Katherine Manning, Sharon Kendall, Nancy Shepard, Liz Curtin, Ann Redmon, Polly Kienle, Elise Rowley, Dave Wininger, Walter Richardson, Leslie Zales (new parent member 2016 -17), Shiv Chandra (Class of 2019 student representative). Absent: Kristin Tissera, Alex McLaughlin, Elise Santiago, Katie Cutler (new community member). I. May 9 minutes approved with no changes. II. Announcements from Council members • Graduation on June 5th went well III. Thank Outgoing Members and Welcome New Members • Contact list updated with information for new members. • Thank you to Ann Redmon and Kristin Tissera for their time and energy on Site Council • A meeting calendar draft for 2016 -2017 was approved. IV. End -of -Year Wrap -Up • New Block Schedule and I Block Roll -Out • Suggestions were provided for I Block guidelines. In particular, clear expectations for attendance during I Block, planning for the use of educator support, balancing opportunities at school with available supports, students should not see I Block as an opportunity to put more on their plate, clarify the difference between the old X Block and I Block. • Homework Surveys • No discussion on this agenda item • Grade Level Target Roll -Out • The developmental targets were reviewed and recommendations provided. Additional examples to highlight concrete skill development in high school and post - graduation life. • 2016 -2017 School Improvement Plan Draft • No discussion on this agenda item. The draft School Improvement Plan was presented at the June 7 School Committee meeting. • Suzanne Lau was nominated to serve again as Parent Co -chair of the LHS Council next year. • ANGP was again a successful and important graduation event for Seniors this year — Thanks to the organizing committee and many volunteers.
