Plans for visit of Walnut Valley USD (Diamond Bar) leaders
Margaret Coppe, Faith Lin, Manasi Singhal and Susie Lee -Snell are the planners for the visit, scheduled for September
28 -30. The draft is appended. We made the following decisions regarding the plans:
• One meeting slot, perhaps Friday afternoon, should be assigned to leaders of the Asian community
organizations
• PPC members are to be included in one of the meetings
• The number of members of our Subcommittee participating in any meeting should be limited to three
• All members of the Subcommittee should have the opportunity to participate in one meeting
• Meal expenses of Subcommittee members who participate in meals with the visitors will be covered by our
budget. Other Lexington participants will have to cover their own costs.
• A member of the Subcommittee will be assigned as a note taker for each formal session.
• The planning team will also be responsible for arranging publicity (e.g., The Minuteman, The Colonial Times,
Senior Newsletter, Library newsletter, Town web site, LPS web site)
• The Subcommittee will suggest a set of topics for each meeting, including the presentation in the Cary Library,
and ask the Lexington principals, e.g. Carl Valente, Mary Czajkowski to add their topics. The topics will then be
sent to our guests to help them in their preparations.
• The planning team is responsible for proposing all details, e.g. venue for meals, to the Subcommittee
Summary of information from calls with superintendents and heads of school boards
The summary, with the names of the school districts removed, will be sent to our interviewees with a request that they
fill in any missing information.

Tanya Gisolfi and Dan Krupka reviewed what they had learned about this program from conversations with retired

how the concept cold be adapted for Lexington.
