Pelham Road property letter: discussion only, no vote Reports/Updates : • Bike Walk Bus Week - Peggy updated us on planned activities. • Discovery Day - GCC will not have a table as no table-sitters are available. • Carol Kowalski meeting - (see Keith’s notes on meeting) Can GCC work with Recreation Dept on areas like Garfield St. Also discussed; Vaille/Kimball path, Laconia St school prop- erty (Keith has emailed Bill Hurley as School Committee chair) and Peggy will mention it to Judy Crocker. Brookhaven has withdrawn its request for rezoning, but Keith and Mike met with Brookhaven folks about the new trail and they seemed to approve. • Belmont Country Club property - Lexington Montessori School will purchase the property and will draft a Conservation Restriction, and also consider trail development. In addition, BCC has another parcel for sale along Concord Avenue. The question arose as to whether the right-of-first-refusal, held by the Town, continues with the new owner (LMS). • Grain Mill Alley - Funds were allocated by Town Meeting for a bike node which will include a 3-sided kiosk. The designer has not been decided yet. Dave Kucharsky (Planning Dept) and Melissa Tintocalis (Economic Development) are working on the project. Ongoing Business : • Route G - Discussed Mike’s new plan through Countryside. Do we need to call DigSafe for any posts on that route? We also discussed Bob’s alternate route through Lower Vine Brook. Decision had been made to use Bob’s route, but we will re-walk to confirm decision. Still waiting on permission for the School Property off Laconia. • Route F extension - as per Richard Canale, Nancy Nelson is to retire from Minute Man Na- tional Historical Park and does not want to take on new projects. Also, the Aloft and Element Hotels are being sold to a new owner. Decided to put major planning on this segment on hold. We can talk with Town about any possible plans to put in a crosswalk and/or rebuild the Old Mass Ave/Marrett Rd intersection. Eileen will contact John Livsey in Engineering to dis- cuss. • Summer projects - 227 Grove St, the large Carchia parcel, is possibly slated for develop- ment. GCC should follow with an eye toward making sure that trail access is maintained in the area as it is contiguous to both Wright Farm and the Landlocked Forest. Alan Wrigley is an abutter - should we talk to him? Is this another situation where a land trust would be a useful instrument? Route G will be supported by Bob, Eileen, and Mike over the summer. Keith and Peggy will check with School Committee about the Laconia St property. Route F extension will be on hold for the summer. New Business: • 227 Grove St development is all speculation at this point, but surveyors have been seen on the property. GCC will keep tabs on the situation. Next Meeting : June 20, 2016, 4:30-6:00pm, DPW Training Room Future meeting dates: Sept 26, Oct 24, Nov 28, Dec 19 Future Agenda Items: None at this time beyond continued trail investigation and development Respectfully Submitted by Alexandra Dohan, Secretary
