TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC TRUSTS
Minutes of Meeting of September 20, 2010
The meeting was held at 12 noon at the offices of Atlantic Trust at 100 Federal Street,
Boston, MA. Present were Alan Fields, Thomas Taylor, David Williams, Susan
McClements, David Ely, and Pat Doyle.
David Williams discussed with Pat some issues with the State Street accounting
statements which Will be fixed.
The Trustees voted to approve investments of some of the cash balances in some funds
made on September 14 on instructions from Alan.
The State Street report on performance of the funds as of August 31, 2010 was reviewed.
Performace across the board was very good compared to our benchrnarks.
The April meeting minutes were accepted:
Susan reported on her discussions with the Lexington Symphony President on our
$10,000 donation from the Gilmore Fund to establish a Centennial Endowment Fund for
the symphony, to be matched with a $10,000 contribution from the symphony. The
Trustees reviewed the terms of the fiend and the publicity. There will be a reception for
the Board and the Trustees on November 3.
There was a discussion of the Filipowski sculpture cornrnisioned by the library and
displayed in the old library building. The sculpture is now kept in a closet because the
library doesn't know what to do with it. The Trustees paid $2000 toward the cost. The
sentiment of the Trustees was that it should be displayed or sold. Alan will talk to
Connie Rawson.
Next meeting at the hone of Susan McClements on November 3 before the Lexington
Symphony reception.
