HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-04-28-TPT-minTOWN OF LEXINGTON TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC TRUATS Minutes of Meeting of April 28, 2010 The meeting was held at 12:30 PM at 100 Federal Street, Boston, MA Present: Alan Fields, Thomas Taylor, David Williams and Susan McClements. Also Dennis Dwyer and Pat Doyle from SSGA. Dennis reported that Craig McColIough had left the firm and that Pat would be in charge of our account. The minutes of the February 18, 2010 were approved Pat Doyle reviewed the performance of the portfolio as of March 31. Alan is to instruct Pat as to the investment of the large amount of cash in the Munroe Cemetery Fund in government agency bonds. The Trustees reviewed a proposal from McCue The Florist Inc. to install and maintain flower barrels in the center of town for the corning summer. It was decided to request $8725 from the Fund for Lexington. The Trustees discussed the proposal to make a $10,000 one - hundreth anniversary gift to the Lexington Symphony,to be matched by the Symphony, to establish an endowment. David and Susan are to meet with Fred Johnson to work out the details. The Trustees voted to accept the Paul A. Serben Scholarship Fund subject to approval by the Selectmen. There was discussion of bringing on board an investment person who could become familiar with our operation with a view to eventual replacements of Trustees. Susan will talk to three persons identified by the group as possibilities. It was voted to authorize David to make the usual disbursements of scholarships funds in May Tom Taylor, Secy.
