TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC TRUSTS
Minutes of meeting of May 29, 2008
The meeting was held at the offices of Atlantic Trust at 100 Federal Street, Boston MA at
1:00 PM. Present were Alan Fields, Thomas Taylor and David Williams.
The draft minutes of the January 25, 2008 meeting were approved.
Alan had a letter from State Street rejecting our request for reimbursement for the
investment loss suffered by the Cary Library funds. It was decided not to accept this
position and give the bank an opportunity to make up the loss by a charitable contribution
to the Cary Library Foundation.
Craig McCullough and Patrick Doyle joined the meeting and presented the portfolio
review as of April 30. Following a discussion it was decided to consider investing some
fixed income in a more actively managed fund such as the Leuthold Asset Allocation
Fund. Alan is to make a proposal for consideration.
It was voted to approve the list of scholarship fund transfers as set forth on the list
attached.
The Trustees voted to approve a payment of $740.00 from the Gilmore Fund for the
repair of the Cary Hall statues.
David reported that work on Whipple Way was complete.
