2. Upcoming Events:
• Patriot’s Day parade April 17th - everyone welcome to march/bike with us. 1:30pm
gathering
• Tour de Cure Update; Kick-Off Ride (Saturday April 22nd 10 am)- Rev Hall
• Walk Along Bikeway Past (Saturday, May 6 10-12 noon, meet behind Visitors’ Center)-
History of the Railroad/Photos all the way to I-95
• Bikeway Clean-up Day - Sunday May 7th 9am - 11am; Sarah, Suzan and sign-up
sheet
• Bikeway Counts (Saturday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 16. Volunteers needed to do
one-hour blocks of time behind the Depot
• Tough Ruck - Sunday April 16 - 700 people. Turn around Seasons Four
• Friends/CRW Second Sunday bike rides starting in May 14th at 10 am – volunteers
needed
• Breakfast on the Bikeway, Friday, May 19, starting at 6:30 am behind the Depot (also
Bike to Work Day).
• Discovery Day, Saturday, May 28th - volunteers needed to work shifts at Friend table

Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee – 7:30 – 9:00 pm
1. Approve March 9, 2023 Meeting Minutes
Motion to Approve, seconded. Minutes were approved.
2. Committee Business: upcoming LBAC meetings,
● Can we reschedule to May 4th and June 1st - Committee voted to
reschedule
3. East Lexington Wayfinding presentation – Sandhya Iyer
Sandhya Iyer presented - Regional Wayfinding Signage, East Lexington Village
presentation
● Received Redo grant - $150,000 to attract businesses (for 3 Towns)
● Kept signage similar to Toole Design
● Locations Identified
● LBAC voted to approve with a few discussion points
○ Graffiti tagging
○ Map Updated
○ Lighting/Solar
○ Jim to send information to Sandhya - sign pollution
4. Council for the Arts Bikeway Project – Steve Poltorzycki
In Late 2020 - Painted Doors project was done
● Now another outdoor project is being proposed
● Small Sculptures-
○ Needs ideas, thoughts, letter of support
○ Small sculptures will be located in trees near Visitor Center
○ If more than 5 sculpture, then the remainder will be located near the
Police Station
○ Sculpture will be present sometime in June 2023 till September 2023
○ Local sculptors and architects will be featured
○ Sculptures will be located in trees 10 Feet from bikeway
○ The LBAC Approved this art project on the bikeway. Betty emailed the
letter with the Committee approval to the Select Board and to Steve
Poltorzycki.
5. Worthen Rd Bike Lane Pilot Update
Waiting for Letters of Support - PTO, Farmers Market, Blue Sox, LHS School etc.
David send some letters - Lexington Farmers Market - Pushback
Jim is the only person working on this. He needs help. Betty, Sarah and Matt all agreed
to pitch in along with Dave Armstrong. They formed a sub-committee and agreed to
meet.
Letters from Schools and Parents are better.
Betty to get the item on the Select Board Agenda (end April/early May). - Jim confirmed
that we are on the Select Board agenda May 8th.
How do you reach students? Arnav? Nishanth? Kunal? Others?
Tom will find out - who in the school (maybe a Teacher) that can be helpful
Johnny Cole - DEI Person who can suggest (Betty to approach).
Susan Barrett - Maybe can help (Sarah to approach).
Sheila Page (Ross will ask her) - Planning & Safety / TSG Coordinator
Meet - Zoom session - Tuesday April 18, 5:30pm
Jim will send the update/letter that he sent out, to the group.
It was suggested to bring kids to the Select Board Meeting to confirm the unsafe riding
situation to commute to LHS
6. Safety Sign Update from FOLB/LBAC sub-committee
Bedford Committee accepted signs (all except the 15 mph sign)
The sub-committee worked with Ross at DPW to survey the bikeway and identify sign
locations, which are now identified on the map
Within 1 week - finalize it (being tweaked)
