Present: Jenny Corduck, Kara Kunkler-Peck, Erin Cerat, Melinda Loof, Kate Babineau, Lance
Zhang, & Brandy Hartford.
Meeting called to order at 7:45 by Jenny Corduck.
• Welcome & Introductions
• School Updates
o Staffing - Review of "new" hires for the 23-24 school year
• Parent Updates
o Status of "Serious Talks," in particular the home communication regarding lesson
content. Last week, teachers met to write the letters which will be sent home prior
to lessons being taught.
• Please review the following Copy of Fall 2023 Bowman Innovation Plan.. Please pay
particular attention to the section highlighted in green "Next steps, what will be done and
when".
o Parent representatives asked questions related to co -teaching and the process
for review of curriculum. We discussed how the budget impacts our ability to
dedicate special education positions to the and the likelihood that next year, we
will not have a co -taught classroom. With regard to the curriculum review, we
shared the timeline and impact the pandemic had on the work of the district in
starting the review process and it getting interrupted.
o A member also inquired about the mentor program and who was selected and
how it was communicated to families.

The meeting concluded at 8:45. Council members were invited to provide comments on the
"Draft" Bowman Innovation Plan (linked in the above in the agenda). Ms. Corduck has since
reviewed and responded to comments which were noted and can be discussed at the next
meeting on 11/17/23.
