Whereas; Dr.Burt Perlmutter,who joined the Lexington Board of Health in 1996, is stepping down
after serving for 27 years; and
Whereas. r Perlmutter joined the:hoard.of Health after an illustrious medial career,Serving in the
United.States Army In Vietnam,as part of an internal medicine practice in Arlington,
Massachusetts and as Medical Director at Symmes Hospital in Arlington,Massachusetts-,
and.
Whereas:, r.Perlmutter and his A fe,Bobbi,are longtime residents of Lexington, moving here in
August of 1969 and raising tier three daughters here; and
Whereas: Dr.Perlmutter served on the Board.of Health as part ofhis heartfelt civic duty and a with
purpose to improve the health of the people of Lexington and
Whereas- Dr.Perlmutter felt that;public Health is more than restaurant inspections and strived to
educate and informs.residents and Town Officials alike,�such areas as: disease control
preparedness planning, and environmental issues, and.
Whereas: Dr..Perlmutter'Perlmutter's work in preparedness planning during the COVII -19,panders .e,
alongside the Fire Chief,is particularly memorable and a major factor that he attributes to
the Board.of Health having the recognition it deserves,culminating in the creation of the
Lexington Health Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, , THE SELECTBOARD of Lexington,Massachusetts, do hereby recognize and.
honor
Dr. Burt Perlmutter
and thank him for his work,not only as a member and Past Char of the,Beard of Health,where he
oversaw a health assessment conducted by the Health Director,but for all ofhis work-always done
respectfullyand graciously for the past 27 years.
