HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-06-24-DAC-min LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE Minutes of Meeting of June 242015 , A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee was held on June 24, 2015 at 7:30 pm in the Reed room of the Town Office building. A quorum of six was present. Members Present: , Bruce Creager, John Frey, Bahig Kaldas, Alenka SlezakBrigitte Steines, Richard Friedson, Steve Vincent, Caroline Fitzgerald Members Absent: Tim Lee (Chair) Approvals : Minutes of the previous meeting were not approved, to be reviewed and approved at the next meeting. The meeting reviewed and acted on the following item: 1.233 Massachusetts Avenue – Sign application Applicant presented their proposal to add a new sign to an existing building and have a sandwich board sign at the above address. 1.The sign will be either aluminum or high density urethane. Brackets aluminum. Colors as on attached sheets, white to be clarified with head company. Colors and general font, layout etc is hard to change for franchise owner. 2.The brackets will be visible from the side, coming up or down Mass Ave. 3.There will be lighting but is not determined yet. 4.Great Harvest will have production on lower level, sale store on first floor and 18 seats at second floor. Opening hours are planned to be 7 to 6. 5.Sandwich sign, intended to put up on store property for passerby’s. Regular size 24x46, see attachment. Recommendation by committee members - Sign to be down scaled proportionally to about 9’ width, lining up with outer window lines. - Background white seems to be glaring on the presented sheets, white should be off-white. Spacing of brackets to be verified, and that brackets to be set back (less visible) Brackets finish color to match new roof shingles. Gap between sign and roof recommended for water run off/snow melting. Lighting recommendation is LED strip light on top of sign. If other lights will be chosen applicant n. needs to present choice in drawings in front of committee agai All committee members second the motion for approval pending compliance with the recommendations stated above.
