LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting of February 10, 2014
A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee was held on February 10, 2014 at 7:30 pm in the Ellen Stone
room of Cary Hall. A quorum of six was present.
Members Present:
Tim Lee (Chair), Bruce Creager, John Frey, Brigitte Steines, Alenka Slezak, Bahig
Kaldas, Ginna Johnson

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved with minor corrections
The meeting acted on the following items:
1. Kiln Brook – 70 Westview St., 20 Maguire Rd. & 81 / 83 Hartwell Ave., Lexington, MA
Sign application - modifications to existing signs
The DAC reviewed the proposed modifications to the existing signs at our regular meeting 10
February 2014 and had the following comments and recommendations.
1.The DAC approved of the design solution, materials, color and overall scale and
appearance of the signs for this specific location.
2.Although internally illuminated signs are not permitted the DAC agreed that the use of
LED lamps is appropriate and offers the least impact and most sustainable solution for
this location.
The following documents/exhibits were presented and reviewed at the meeting:
1.Exterior Site Signage package produced by Advanced Signing Drawing No's. A01-A.1 –
A.8, REV.10-30-13, Site.2 Rev. 7-22-13, A01-B.1 – B18 Rev. 10-30-13, Site.4 & Site 4a
Rev. 7-22-13, A01-C.1 – C.8 Rev. 10-30-13, Site.1 Rev. 7-22-13
The Design Advisory Committee recommended approval of this application. If further changes are made to
the plan or final installation the DAC asked that the applicant notify the DAC for review and approval prior
to implementation.
