Commissioners Present: Diane Pursley, Marilyn Fenollosa, Wendall Kalsow.
Commissioner Absent: Robert Rotberg, Chair, Susan Bennett.

Vice Chair Diane Pursley called the June 21 Historical Commission meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
AGENDA ITEM #1: Approved revised Definition of “Substantial Demolition”
The Commissioners reviewed and approved the amended definition of “Substantial Demolition”.
Mr. Kalsow suggested to either replace with “or” or delete the word “and” of the third item “the removal
of more than one exterior wall of a building: and”.
No Public Comments.
MOTION:
Ms. Fenollosa made a motion to adopt the definition of substantial demolition as presented in this
meeting with one change to delete the word “and” and post it to website as the operable definition
going forward. Mr. Kalsow seconded.

James Barr, homeowner and builder, explained the historical insignificance of the property at 56 Harding
Road.
The Commission agreed to remove the structure at 56 Harding Road from the Comprehensive Cultural
Resources Survey.

HC COMMENTS:
The Commission agreed that the property at 56 Harding Road has lost its architectural integrity and
therefore may be removed from the Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey.
MOTION:
Mr. Kalsow made a motion to find that the structure at 56 Harding Road has lost its architectural
and cultural integrity as an individual dwelling and no longer contribute significantly to the Manor
Neighborhood, and therefore it will be removed from the Comprehensive Cultural Resources
Survey. Ms. Fenollosa seconded.

appropriate and consistent with the historic value of the house. Mr. Kelland seconded.
