CHARGE RE GUIDELINES FOR
RECOMBINANT DNA RESEARCH
WITHIN THE TOWN OF LEXINGTON
There shall be a seven member committee consisting of one member of
the Planning Board, one member of the Board of Health, two citizens
at large and three citizens with scientific and/or technical back-
grounds with specific knowledge of research re Recombinant DNA.
The Committee shall :
1 . Investigate existing regulations and/or ordinances in
other communities where this kind of research is conducted.
2. Review safety procedures and monitoring techniques for
such research.
3. Prepare proposed guidelines for use by the Board of Appeals
when considering the granting of a special permit for this
kind of research.
4. The Committee' s report shall be submitted no later than
October 1 , 1984.
