Susan:Transport in Suburbia Book recommendation from Susan Barret about best practices and examples in mass transport. Howard:a group on the Burlington route for Lexpress,Howard rode the A transport. It took me to a part of Lexington that he hasn’t seen before. Varda -bus driver says he usually has several people at that time. However,it was more employ that day. Susan:8.30 am is the least popular and 7.30 am is most popular and then 10.30 am. Bridger -we need to drill down,to look at underutilized and non utilized routes. Susan -we have that information and can share it. Bridger -2 charges that the SB asked us to do.He discussed the charge and highlighted the need to Solicit feedback from the town.He also talked about Town meeting association -healthy appetite and in person collaboration and maintaining the in person hybrid environment. Therefore if we can do a zoom and an in person meeting simultaneously then the community can participate. Discussion on logistics for the town wide 1st meeting of the AHTC. Sharon -what time of day is the best to engage the community you serve:it varies, younger families early evening 6-7 works, for seniors daytime hours are best Carolyn -early evening. Howard -evening meetings make more sense. So that they can accomplish their day business in the morning. We would do a hybrid. Bridger:hybrid is facility dependent and then we would need a town facility..And lex media should be a part of it. Carolyn:July is a rough month to host, early september may get more people and traction. Summer may not be the best time to get school families.Engage the users of lexpress and use the public relations officer to schedule. On Vacation till July 10th. Deepika -Get the stakeholder folks to show up such at TMM,finance groups, etc Bridger -July XX date and we will do these meetings and do the intake Joe Pato:Summer is really difficult so be cautious about holding public meetings.Good idea to do the ZOOM meeting at the end of July and do a demographic form. And if they use Lexpress. Did we get reasonable coverage at this meeting? So if we do this then we have something to present in September. Howard -not underestimate the effectiveness of Zoom even when people are away.Participants of his health coach have joined even when in Cancun. Susan -current Lexpress riders tend to be challenged doing in person meetings and also don't have access to technology Susan -last transportation forums -they translated the information into Chinese. Bridger -calendar ,evening Zoom Tuesday or Wednesday 7-8.30pm window. Assign responsibilities and tasks (Bridger and Deepika to take offline).Once Joe approves it we will give it Staff Sharon -next wednesday out for a month,Melissa Interest is the backup contact. Carolyn Kosnoff -town management fellow can help out with us.Down two people in the office right now however,so staff is stretched Susan -can create google forms, somewhat overwhelmed right now and google forms. Bridger -pen to paper time, this report could take any form such a short or long form report. Showed the report outline on the screen and walked us through it. Howard:We pay taxes as seniors don't get a lot,and don't get a lot of services for the taxes we pay.On Demand portal should not take cost as a major factor because that is what we need. Doing an Uber or lyft type of service would be great but the quality of drivers is problematic.A town operated service would be able to manage the quality of the drivers and service. School buses are no longer doing the service oriented runs such as fiske to hayden.Look at the timelines etc for middle schools and high schools.SPED utilization and needs. School buses are there inefficiencies which could free up additional revenue or for expansion of senior services for example . Varda -the impact of covid be highlighted -the BART system in San Francisco was a very well used system is now a 30 percent of ridership. They are going to reimagine and rethink the system.Just share the article if available.
