Veterans Day Cermonies Wrap-up
- Geetha again thanked all members for making possible this outstanding event.
- Linda reported that, thanks to her Thank You note to the Lexington Minutemenm she and Lo-
rain were invited to its Change of Command ceremony and dinner at the Wayside Inn! Our rela-
tionship with the Minutemen is very close.
Doug Lucente cautioned that 3 Town Zoom meetings have been "bombed" by unauthorized at-
tendees and told Geetha to be suspicious of any outsiders wishing to attend our meetings.
Sam Zales invited all TCC members to attend the many activities being offered by the Martin
Luther King Day (Jan 17) Committee, the 29th commemoration by the Town. We are encour-
aged to spread the word though our individual networks. Geetha wished to be kept advised of
which members pariticipated ii which activities.
Patriots Day (April 18)
- A thorough discussion of our main alternatives ensued: (a) hold an outdoor, traditional parade
versus (b) support other activities such as last year's Door Decorations, the Smiles & Miles
project, and the video. Steve said that Minuteman National Park is going ahead with outdoor
plans. Cerise enthused over her Scouts' and son's desire to hold a parade this year. Gresh
noted that with vaccines, boosters, and masks prevalent everywhere now, the conditions are
set to hold a sate outdoor parade after 2 years of cancellations.
- A motion to hold a traditional parade was unanimously approved by the members. This
will be subject to Select Board approval (meeting next Tuesday the 18th).
- A subcommittee will meet this Friday at 7:30 PM to finalize our parade plan resentation to the
Select Baord. It will include backup ideas should the weather or COVID make holding a parade
irnpossilbe.
"
- Doug then urged us to convene soonest a Stakeholder Meeting of all Town Departments which
will be involved in supporting an outdoor parade. Geetha will get in touch with Cathy Sever-
ance at the Town to set this meeting up.
8:09 PM: Meeting Adjourned.
Next Meeting: January 26, 2022.
Respectfully submitted,
Gresh Lattimore, Secretary
