Public Comments: None Minutes from April approved New Business • Julie-Ann thanked COA Board members stepping down: Betty Borghesani, Camille Goodwin, Bonnie Teitleman • Discovery Day-will COA participate? Michelle states COA will not b/c set up not possible; Sue Rockwell volunteered to provide set up from Depot; transportation will have a booth • Friends of COA Topics o Peter Holland described and updated role of FCOA o FCOA had an unpaid consultant address how to publicize FCOA and elicit interest and contributions, increase visibility; brainstormed ways to do o OWLL Jane Trudeau provides intellectual activity 4 courses annually for seniors; 10th anniversary, has offered 122 classes to 1000 participants o Lifetimes 2x annual publication Suzanne Caton arts for seniors o Finances Shirley Stolz -Dana Home Foundation has given OWLL grant; annual awards 6/7 at Community Center 6pm; source of FCOA income is from 2 trust funds, interest deposited into FCOA budget; current balance: $14,569. Spent on Veterans’ program, $10,000 to Lexington, post office, instructors, webmaster Age Friendly • Julie-Ann and John proposed resource guide and updates for seniors on aging in place • Parking program- will meet w/Selectboard to update and request continuation, provide memo on participants and plan Staff Reports: Michelle Kelleher, Senior Services Director • Adam Sutton workplace coach consultation 5/9 • Walk MA Challenge 5/1-10/31 • Mental Health Awareness Month- many activities Kelsey Rollins Senior Services Coordinator • Storytelling 50 registrants • Summer, fall planning Melissa Interess, Director Human Services • Office manager retired, new manager Tracy Boudreau • Veteran Services Director new person beginning 5/18 • Outreach clinician will be giving vaccines to homebound • Wellness Clinic with Health Dept available by appointment: BP, vaccines Liason Reports Abbreviated Minuteman Senior Services Sudhir Jain, Bea Holland- New programs, publicizing services Transportation-Sudhir Jain-Discussion of $20 annual fee FCOA- Sudhir Jain- see above Commission on Disability-Bonnie Teitleman- no update Recreation Committee Julie-Ann no update Lexington Housing-Susan Rockwell -Vynebrook renovations, relocation working, plumbing issues, alarm updates Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee- no update Vision for Lexington-Jyotsna Kakullavarapu- no update Housing Partnership- John Zhao- Board support for MBTA requirements, continue to push, Betsey Weiss joining HP Mental Health Task Force-Ellen Cameron- no update but see above on Mental Health Awareness month Lexington Center Committee-Sandra Shaw- support Articles 33, 34; advocate for tree canopy; retail vacancies Strategic Equity Advisory Ellen Cameron -working with Hemali Shah, hope to publicize Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Meeting adjourned by John 3: 37PM Next meeting of COA : June 7, 2023 2:30 -4PM location TBD Submitted by Bonnie Teitleman
