October 6,2022 Meeting Minutes
Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk,the Semiquincentennial Commission
(Lex250)convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on Thursday,October 6,2022 at
7:03 pm as allowed by legislation (S.2475)extending the suspension of certain provisions of the
Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.
Present:Steve Conners (Reenactment Community),Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations
Committee Representative),Mona Roy (Community Representative),Jillian Tung (Music &Arts
Representative),Bebe Fallick (Tourism Committee Representative),Barry Cunha (Business
Representative),Suzie Barry (Select Board Member),Julie O’Leary (Civic Representative),
Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations Committee Representative)Paul O’Shaughnessy (Historical
Organization Representative)
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm by Ms.Barry.
1.Community engagement/Lex 250 kick off meeting
a.Cary Library large meeting room space
b.Wednesday,October 12,2022 at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm
c.Ms.Roy indicated that she received a robust response from community members
and organizations to whom invitations were sent
d.The meeting is open to all community members
e.Commission members will follow up with those invitees who have not yet
responded.Each member is asked to choose 5 -10 invitees from a spreadsheet to
be distributed by Ms.Roy
f.The event will be posted as a town committee meeting
g.Meeting format:
i.Open with video,followed by outline of working groups
ii.The ask:invitations to volunteer (Ms.Tung)
iii.Invitations for community groups to participate (Ms.Roy)
iv.Twitter/social media (Mr.Conners)
v.Article VIII coming at Town Meeting:Request for $75,000 to fund
website and Lex 250 -related activities (Mr.Cunha,Ms.Jalelian)

iii.Shields PR firm will attend Lex 250 meeting on October 19
2.Mr.Conners shared a draft of a Powerpoint presentation on a vision for Patriots Day 2025
along with a proposed timeline of events.Commission members discussed possibilities
for events,including a possible encampment in which visitors could interact with
reenactors.
3.Homework:Prepare for kickoff meeting on 10/12/2022,sign up to follow up with
invitees.
4.Next Lex 250 meeting:October 19 at 3:30 pm
5.A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr.Cole,seconded by multiple members,
and approved by roll call vote at 8:41 pm.
