SELECTMEN'S TAX DEFERRAL AND EXEMPTION STUDY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting
September 16, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Town Office Building
Present: Vicki Blier, Marilyn Campbell, Pat Costello, John Bartenstein and Tom Taylor
The meeting was devoted to a discussion of the contents and form of the report on the
residential exemption we will give to the Selectmen. It was decided that we will just
present the facts we have gathered and make no recommendation.
Some of the topics that should be included are how will different categories of
homeowners be affected, is it possible to make any correlation between assessments and
income, how does the RE affect seniors trying to qualify for the circuit breaker
exemption, what is the affect on renters and farms and open space. Vicki will assign
topics to members and Tom will try his hand at a draft of the report.
