November 16,2022 Meeting Minutes
Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk,the Semiquincentennial Commission
(Lex250)convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on Wednesday,November 16,
2022 at 4:04 pm by Ms.Barry as allowed by legislation (S.2475)extending the suspension of
certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.
Members Present:

1.Lex250 Meetings
A.Future Meeting Dates and Note Takers were assigned and are as follows:
MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT 4:00

B.Future guests to be invited to Lex 250 meetings:
Simone Monte,Superintendent,Minute Man National Park
Carol Ward,Executive Director,Lexington Historical Society
Hemali Shah,Town of Lexington,CHief Equity Officer
Stewart Ikeda from Umbrella Arts in Concord and the Arlington Arts Council would like
to meet with us to discuss the possibility of collaborating across towns.Ms.Tung to
coordinate.
C.We discussed the possibility of the Lex 250 meeting in hybrid or in person.
2.Community Meeting
The next Community Meeting date was set for May 10,2023.Times and location to be
determined at a future meeting.

3.Special Guest Topic
Mina S.Makarious,Town Counsel was invited to elaborate on the legalities and the
rules of working (breakout)groups.
The subgroups are formed because of special interests or skill set among the members.
The subgroups meet to discuss the best procedures or investigate the best practices for
their particular topic,bring their research findings and suggestions to the committee for
further discussion and approval.The subgroups will not meet long term,and will be
evolving and changing throughout the Lex 250's term.
4.How do we approach large organizations to help highlight the Lex250 and its
mission?
A vote was taken to approve the membership in the Rev250 Signature Level Tier for the
next three years;at $1,500 per year which equals $4,500 over the course of 3 years.

5.Promotional Items and Advertising
A.Printing Brochures What the Brochure Needs to Say-
1.We need to print new brochures as the Town QR code has changed.
2.Should we have a 1/2 sheet or 1/3 sheet for a handout?
3.What is the best way to recruit volunteers?
4.Future Events
B.What promo items should we stock up on for giveaways?

pins
bumper stickers
shirts
C.Banner Flags
Design and time frame they should be up
6.Lexington High School -Youth Liaison Role
A "youth liaison role"was discussed for a representative from Lexington High School.
7.Stakeholders and Roadshow
A.Mr.Cunha,Ms.Barry and Mr.Conners will meet with Patriots’Day stakeholders
B.Roadshow Update and things to discuss:
*We will work on it in Late January
*Need two people to do the presentation for each show
*Present the roadshow to civic groups -lions club,rotary club
*What can we do in our groups for the roadshow?
*Give out promotional items
*Should we present our roadshow to groups or invite liaisons from the groups to
join our Lex250 meetings?
8.Adjourned
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ms.Roy and was seconded by Mr.O'
Shaughnessy and approved by roll call vote at 5:30 p.m.
