Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy called the February 8th, 2023 Historic Districts Commission meeting to
order at 5:01pm.
FORMAL HEARING
Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 6 Meriam Street, exterior alterations
(Roof-mounted solar energy system) in the Battle Green Historic District

Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the continued hearing for 1575 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior
alterations (Solar Carports) in the Battle Green Historic District

Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 678 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior
changes (Exterior Renovation) in the East Village Historic District

Updated landscape plan: dated November 10, 2022
The applicant Brad Hanley and landscaper Eric McLaughlin explained the proposed plans to 678
Massachusetts Avenue.
The Board felt the proposed plans required more details and dimensions. Paul O’Shaughnessy will serve
as liaison for this application in terms of material details. Bob Adams suggested to separate the proposed
drawings into two plans: house plans and landscaping plans.

Chair, Paul O’Shaughnessy made a motion that a certificate of appropriateness will be issued for
the architectural structural parts of the house as presented during the HDC meeting February 8th,
2023. HDC will review the landscape plan with hardscape dimensions and materials in March
meeting. Bob Adams seconded. Roll call vote: Paul O’Shaughnessy – Yes, Bob Adam – Yes, Robin
Lovett – Yes, Lee Noel Chase - Yes, Dan Hisel – Yes. Motion carried, all in favor.
Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior house
changes to 678 Massachusetts Avenue. Motion carried, all in favor.

approve the minutes on January 5th, 2023 as written. Motion carried. All in favor.
