WARRANT FOR STATE ELECTION. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS MIDDLESEX,SS. To either of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, Greeting: In thename of the Commonwealth you are hereby ,required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Lexington who are qualified to vote in elections to meet in EMERSON HALL, STONE BUILDING, EAST LEXINGTON (Precinct i ) and in TOWN HALL, LEXINGTON MITRE, (Precinct II ) , on TUESDAY, THE SEVENTH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1922, AT SIX O'CLOCK A. M. , to cast their ballots for the following officers: Governor; Lieutenant Governor; Secretary; Treasurer; Auditor; Attorney General; Senator in Congress; Congressman; Councillor; Senator; Representative in General Court; County Commissioner; Associate County Commissioners; District Attorney; Clerk of the Courts; Register of Deeds and County Treasurer ( to fill vacancy) . Also to bring in their votes on the following questions: Referendum Question No. 1. "Proposed Amendment to the Constitution." Article of Amend- ment. Article XLVIII of the Amendments to the Constitution is hereby amended by striking out, in that part entitled "II. Emergency Measures" , under the heading "The Referendum" , the words "A separate vote shall be taken on the preamble by call of the yeas and nays, which shall be recorded, and unless the preamble is adopted by two-thirds of the members of each House voting thereon, the law shall not be an emergency law; but" and substi- tuting the following: _• A separate vote, which shall be recorded, shall be taken on the preamble, and unless the preamble is adopted by two-thirds of the members of each House voting thereon, the law shall not be an emergency law. Upon the request of two members of the Senate or of five members of the House of Representative©, the vote on the preamble in such branch shall be taken by call of the yeas and nays,^ be accepted? Referendum Question No . 2. Shall Chapter 368, Acts of 1921, entitled "Ari Act providing for suits by end against certain voluntary associations ," be accepted? Referendum Question No. 3. Shall Chapter 438 , Acts of 1921, entitled "An Act relative to the examination and licensing of motion picture films to "be publicly exhibited and displayed in this commonwealth," 'be ap©mpted? Referendum, Qieation No. 4 . Shall Chapter 427, Acts of 1922, entitled "An Act to carry into effect, so far as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is concerned, the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States," be accepted? Referendum qiiastion No. 5. Shall Chapter 459, Acts of 1922, entitled "An Act providing that district attorneys shall be members of the bar," be accepted? The polls will be opened immediately after the organization of the meeting and will remain open until five o 'clock P. M. Hereof, fail not, and make due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting.
