Pre-Meeting Tasks Review of draft minutes from December 7, 2022 meeting Approved Attendance: Present:Steve Poltorzycki , Claudia Lach, Anwell Tsai, Lisa Herbert , David Herbert, Marie hewes, Ashley Rooney Absent:Doug Urban, Jessie, Chen, Elsie Xu Guests: Recording Secretary: Marie Hewes Meeting start time: 7:00 •Call to order : 7:18PM •Secretar y’s repor t (Marie): Approved unanimously •Treasurer’s repor t (Steve) Accounts -Local account : $4,700.00 ( rolls over) -Town Account: : $3,655.00 -Council program : $1,820.00 -Total $10,175.00 Income -Applied to a MCC grant : $5,000.00 -Applied to MMC grant ( Festival and projects) : $2.500.00 -Applied to the town- Lexington ARPA : $5,000.00 ( to be applied to Dance around the world Expense: -Dance around the world- $ 5,000.00 -Lex Laughs- $ 900.00 -Bikeway sculptures/ fair y houses $3,000.00 -Porchfest: $3,000.00 Others -Utility boxes: $2,000.00 -Music Perfor mances- $ 1,000.00 -Mural- $5,000.00 ❖We were asked by the Tourism committee to paint more boxes. ❖There is also right behind the tennis court a walkway with tr unk stumps. Sculptor Carol Rose has proposed to carve these into bird sculptures.The Town Meeting needs to vote on this proposal, which the CPA will finance. Our role is to give her organizational backing. ❖We can get publicity from these projects. •Grant cycle: voting on applications (Anwell) ❖We still have 194 dollars to distribute. ❖We voted to divide that amount between the 3 lower proposals (64 dollars extra each) ❖The rejection letters were sent early December. Nobody appealed at this point. ❖Each member of the council will take on 3 grantees to be liaisons Steve will figure out some steps to connect. Anwell will send a list and people can sign up on the form. •Cultural District application update (Steve) Underway •FY 2023 project updates −Lexington Laughs (Lisa) ❖Jessie and Lisa checked the place ( The Depot) and made a decision regarding how to set up the chairs. Some chairs will be added to the existing 90 in the Depot. ❖Lisa will prepare an introduction. ❖Set up starts at 6PM ❖Lisa will send an email to pre-reser ved seats to check that they are still coming. ➢Some ideas around food include Rancatore ser ving ice-cream/ Costco for some snacks ❖Ashley is volunteering to check people in, ❖Claudia will come to set up the chairs. ❖There will be two tables. One reser ved for LCA. On that table we will have posters, Musical instr uments ( Anwell), a banner and Jessie will bring tablecloths. ❖We discussed the number of people allowed in the Depot and the Fire Regulations. ❖Lisa reached out to Lex media and has not heard back. -Dance around the World.( Elsie) ❖March 18, 7-9 PM ❖Elsie is Chair ❖Dance g roups : 9/10 groups , chinese, indian, Jewish, tap dancer, modern dance, … ❖We discussed a way to make transitions more fun for the public: have a projector and have some clips set up ahead of time. We could also have inter views with the g rantees. ❖Ashley can take care of the videos and Anwell will bring a projector. −Porchfest (Steve) ❖Volunteers : Marie, Lisa, Shalini, Anwell. We need to stay at 5 or below because at 6 or above constitutes a quorum for a public meeting. ❖Steve will call for a committee meeting. - Idea to have music on the Emery Park : ❖Ever y Thursday and Friday Night, there are concerts, What about September? Alternate movies and music? -Fairy Houses and Bikeway ❖People were out last year all day long, and really enjoyed this activity with family. It was also with the Patriot Parades. There was a float with the Fair y Houses and workshops were organized by Munroe. One criticism was that some houses were not made with natural material. ❖We would have the houses installed on the bikeway and we will commission artists to make large scale architectural houses .
