a.Parents:
i.Xia:
1.How do we let students know about BARK awards –
raise awareness amongst students question.
2.ParentSquare: This will be for communication purposes
only.
a.Simultaneous notification of PS and email
explanation was confusing and possibly an issue
with adoption for this year.
3.Question about mandatory masking: Not mandatory at
this point. Small increase in masking. Improvement in
students and staff masking when they are sick.
b.Staff:
i.Parent-teacher conferences went well (MO).
ii.Messaging to parents idea: Not all families were aware of the
conferences not combining WL and teamed teachers. Increased
communication would have been helpful. Timing seems to work
for families.

i.Race/Ethnicity training for students:
1.We had an assembly where students shared personal
statements about the impact of these issues.
2.We need to be thoughtful about supporting students
when we discuss this.
3.There are elements of curricula that address these
topics.
4.Could we incorporate a parent academy component to
this? Paired with the student experience.
5.Pathway for staff to bring up issues and questions that
they have about these topics.
6.In the future, we should involve students in the design of
the lessons/programming that we roll out for our
community. Keep student voice.
III.Reviewing Clarke’s Progress on the ‘22-’24 Innovation Plan
a.Link to Innovation Plan “Tracker” version
b.Site Council Members select items from the Innovation Plan for
review and discussion.
1.3.6: “Trusted Adult” update: We wove the discussion of
the role of trusted adults in addressing sexual and
gender-based harassment situations. During our
homeroom-based follow-up lessons in the fall, we
discussed this. Students did a great job with this concept.
(DD)
a.Could we use a different term than “trusted adult?”
Shouldn’t all adults in the school be trusted
adults? (SC)
i.That sounds like a good conversation. (DD)
b.Can we add some piece regarding how they would
respond to different scenarios by going to specific
adults in the school? (LM)
c.We could create a survey in order to collect this
data, around whether students can identify adults
in the school who can help them in different
situations. (RL)
