To any of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, in said County,
Greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the
Town of Lexington qualified to vote in elections and in Town affairs to meet in Cary Memorial Hall, in
said Town on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of September, 1989, at 8:00 p.m., at which time and place the
following articles are to be acted upon and determined exclusively by the Town Meeting Members in
accordance with Chapter 215 of the Acts of 1929, as amended, and subject to the referendum provided
for by Section eight of said Chapter, as amended.
ARTICLE 1 REPORTS OF TOWN BOARDS, OFFICERS, COMMITTEES
To receive the reports of any Board or Town Officer or of any Committee of the Town.
ARTICLE 2 BORROWING FOR SCHOOL EQUIPMENT
To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote taken under Article 38 of the warrant for the 1989 Annual
Town Meeting to authorize leasing and to authorize borrowing for all or a portion of the amount
appropriated for the purchase of equipment and for the purchase and installation of computer hardware;
or act in any other manner in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 3 RECONSIDER APPROPRIATIONS
To see if the Town will vote to reconsider the appropriations voted under Articles 27, 33 and 35 of the
warrant for the 1989 Annual Town Meeting relating to the Police Station alterations, the reconstruction
and rehabilitation of the playing fields at Harrington School, and LEXPRESS; or act in any other manner
in relation thereto. (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen)
ARTICLE 4 REDUCTION OF OPERATING BUDGET
To see if the Town will vote to reconsider the vote taken under Article 4 of the warrant for the 1989
Annual Town Meeting by reducing the amounts appropriated for the following line items: (1110) Public
School Education; (4100) Law Enforcement; (4200) Fire Services; (5110) Library Services; (6410) Human
Services; (2150) Insurance; and (7120) Town Manager; or act in any other manner in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 5 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATIONS FOR CURRENT FISCAL YEAR (FY 90)
To see if the Town will make supplementary appropriations, to be used in conjunction with money
appropriated under Article 4 of the warrant for the 1989 Annual Town Meeting, to be used during the
current fiscal year and determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy; by transfer from
available funds or by any combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 6 WASTE ENTERPRISE FUND
To see if the Town will vote to petition the General Court for an article to authorize the Town to establish
a waste collection enterprise fund; or act in any other manner in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 7 USE OF FUNDS TO REDUCE TAX RATE
To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money from available funds toward the reduction of the tax
rate for the fiscal year; or act in any other manner in relation thereto.

And you are directed to serve this warrant fourteen days at least before the time of said meeting as
provided in the By-Laws of the Town.
Hereof fail not, and make due return on this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or
before the time of said meeting.

OFFICER'S RETURN
Middlesex, ss: Tann of Lexington
I, this day notified the voters of Lexington of the coning Special Town
Meeting to be held on the twenty-fifth day of September, 1989. I notified
10,646 inhabitants of the Town of Lexington qualified to vote in elections by
mailing them a true attested copy of the Warrant on September 7 , 1989 18 days
before the time of said election.
I have also posted a true and attested copy of this Warrant for the Special
Tann Meeting in the following public places, plus one at the Town Office Building:
1. Precinct #1 East .Lexington Library
2. Precinct #2 East Lexington Fire Station
3. Precinct #3 Jonas Clarke Middle School
4. Precinct #4 Senior High School
5. Precinct #5 Cary Memorial Building
6. Precinct #6 William Diamond Middle School
7. Precinct #7 Estabrook School
8. Precinct #8 Fire Headquarters
9. Precinct #9 Maria Hastings School

TO THE TOWN CLERK:
I have served the foregoing warrant by posting a printed copy thereof in
the Town Office Building and in a public place in each of the precincts of the
Town and also by sending by mail, postage prepaid, a printed copy of such warrant
addressed to each dwelling house and to each dwelling unit in multiple dwelling
houses, apartment buildings, or other buildings in the Town 18 days before the
time of said meeting.
