• October is Dyslexia &ADHD Awareness Month
• Film screening at Hastings on October 201h 6:30-9:OOpm
• Storywalk showcasing Lexington students who have learning differences and their challenges
and successes in their own words

• Battle Green Run—sign up for our team—no need to fundraise, we get a cut of the proceeds
based on the number in our team.

What would people like to see for events/speakers?
• Kate D'Angelis from Rec center
• Basic rights—there will be a training—date TBD
• Want info about the SPED programs, terminology, who to go to for what
Ideas for topics for advocacy with the school administrators in the quarterly meeting
• Advocating for rejected IEPs
• SPED in Lexington—how it works
• How students on IEPs are transitioned into the district—advocacy
• Estabrook ILP—supposed to have 1-on-1 aide—this is an issue across the district,what is the
staffing plan and how is it being addressed when staffing is not meeting the needs and IEP
requirements
