Public Comments: None Review and Approval of October minutes with 2 corrections New Business • Welcome to Michelle Kelleher, new role Senior Services Director • Request COA volunteer to apply for position on Housing Board to represent seniors re: affordability and fairness, subject to Selectboard approval; monthly mtgs • Age Friendly update: 11/4 working group reviewed priorities: • Senior parking-welcomed by Selectboard, 2 year trial, will do report and make permanent; Julie-Ann will promote and communicate sticker renewal • Home modifications: small survey revealed demand for program; Ellen and Betty will meet w/town manager to discuss, explore resource list, safety, possibilities • Transportation: extend free hours for seniors, new buses July; John suggested annual fee rather than indiv fares • Parking at Comm Center: seniors upper level, back not fully used; May-October tent occupies 8 spaces • Meet and Greet at villages: communication from COA, visibility Staff Reports: Michelle Kelleher, Senior Services Director • Winter programs registration open • Walk Mass Challenge 5/1 -10/31 Lexington 2nd place • Final trip Boston Pops next week • Holiday lunch 12/15 sponsored FCOA • Wai-Kwok Chong, outreach clinician, homebound seniors , vaccines Melissa Interess, Director Human Services • Compliments to Wai for work • Hired new Youth/Family Services clinician, will be posting Program Coordinator position Liaison Reports Minuteman Senior Services Sudhir Jain-LGBT famies, individuals recognized; policies for housing and homelessness; change in Board of Directors from 1 large mtg to 5 small group mtgs; vaccinations for homebound; Yankee Crafts gift cards for seniors Transportation-Sudhir Jain-Budget presented to Selectboard; new buses; utilization down since pandemic FCOA- Sudhir Jain- 50 year anniversary FCOA plan to celebrate, 2 pg artice in Lexington Times by Bea Holland Commission on Disability-Bonnie Teitleman- presentation of therapeutic recreation; discussion of universal accessibility trails, Willards Woods Recreation Committee Julie-Ann outdoor lights, bathroom maintenance Lexington Housing-Susan Rockwell ED resigned and was welcomed back to job; Countryside updates almost done’ Vinebrook to be done 2/23; reverse 911 will be installed in villages; new services coordinator shared w/Acton; formal rent determination policy setting Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee- no update Vision for Lexington-Jyotsna Kakullavarapu- website updating Housing Partnership- John Zhao- Main mission: affordability, family, older people, people working in Lexington Mental Health Task Force-Ellen Cameron- will boot up after holidays Lexington Center Committee-Sandra Shaw- business owners, seniors would like mixed use with housing and retail Strategic Equity Advisory Ellen Cameron -welcoming Hemali Patel to DE+I role Meeting adjourned by John 3:59PM Next meeting of COA: January 2:30 -4PM location TBD Note: No November meeting Submitted by Bonnie Teitleman
