HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-10-28-VISION2025-minTown of Lexington Vision for Lexington Committee Meeting October 28, 2022 Remote Meeting 7:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Members Present: Margaret Coppe, Chair, Mark Manasas, Bob Peters, Bhumip Khasnabish, Daniel Joyner, Mark Sandeen, Samita Mandelia, Shannon Murtagh, John Giudice, Andrew Dixon Guests: Dan Krupka, Jyotsna Kakullavarapu Staff Present: James Robinson The meeting was called to order: 7:50 am The Remote Meeting Script was read by Ms. Margaret Coppe. Minutes:  Minutes from 12/17/21, 1/28/22, 2/25/22, 3/25/22, 4/29/22, 5/27/22, and 7/29/22 were corrected and approved  The 9/9/22 minutes were approved Action Items Summary:  Outstanding Minutes Meeting Highlights: VFL Website Report on Emails Daniel Joyner sought support in accessing the web platform and reported no new emails for the committee to discuss. Mark Manasas referenced Sean Dugan and Kathy Santos as the Town’s webpage support resources. Bob Peters highlighted that previous years’ reports are not easily available on the webpage and noted the appropriateness for the VFL webpage to include those materials. Membership Review Margaret Coppe noted that there are two applications for review and three vacancies. Margaret Coppe explained that there will not be a need for an application review committee. Mark Sandeen said that the Select Board is considering extending the application period to allow for more input and expansion of recruitment. Town-wide Survey Discussion Mark Manasas highlighted the Survey Report Presentation. The topic of securing clean drinking water was discussed as it was mentioned as a priority in the Town-wide Survey Report. The next presentations will be held: November 4, 9:30am in the Community Center Cafeteria November 15, 7:30pm in the Hastings Elementary School Cafeteria It was determined that a non-restricted version of the presentation and report be included for viewing on the VFL webpage. Dan Krupa noted that a post-survey action plan be drafted. Mark Manasas and Bob Peters mentioned that the Town-wide Survey Working Group can formulate the action items prior to its dissolution. Update on Subcommittee on Voter Participation in Lexington Margaret Coppe shared the need to appoint a new Chair to the Subcommittee. The Subcommittee will be meeting with Town Clerks from the Commonwealth following a conversation with the Lexington Town Clerk. Next Steps Mark Manasas noted that there is a list of priorities that VFL had drafted that would be useful in executing the committee’s charge. John Giudice sought more information on the status of Participatory Budgeting. Dan Krupka noted the utility of identifying action items for VFL based on the Town’s newly enacted comprehensive plan. Bob Peters confirmed that there are areas for VFL to work on. Public Comment There was no public comment. Next Meeting: December 2, 2022 at 7:45am Adjourn: 8:55am
