Present: M. Gilman, B. Witthoft, V. Nicholson
1. Mrs. Nicholson was unanimously recommended for appointment to the
commission and B. Witthoft will write to Town Manager to that
effect.
2. Gilman authorized demolition of the Mobil Station, SW corner of
Waltham and Marrett Sts, and demolition has taken place.
3. Gilman brought 3 letters received re the commission's possible
interest, none of which required action.
4. Brookhaven--historic signs. Gilman traced the designers of the
presetn town signs [Richard Fleming, Townscape Inc. , Cambridge] and
has discussed the matter with Fleming's assistant. Out copy was
sent to Brookhaven VP Heidner. Townscape is to contact Brookhaven.
5. Nicholson suggested that the commission investiage a program to put
historic date markers on old houses.
