MINUTES JUNE 19, 1989
PRESENT: Gilman, Phillips, Hagelstein, Witthoft
1. Minutes of the May 22 meeting were read and approved.
2. Phillips brought a draft of copy for sign(s) at Brookhaven and asked
the commission members for comments. She is to write a final
version.
3. We are still short 1 member. Phillips suggested we write to town
manager asking him to expedite appointment. Witthoft will write a
letter to that effect.
4. Witthoft brought the Preservation Award plaque to the meeting.
Presentation is set for July 6, 1989, at intermission of the
Lexington Bicentennial Band Concert in Hastings Park. The De
Bonte's and the band director have been notified. Gilman will
arrange for reimbursement of the $22.94 Witthoft spent for the
plaque. Witthoft will notify Alice Hinkle at the Minuteman.
Phillips will write a citation and deliver it. We shall all try to
attend.
5. Gilman received a call from Pearl Lewis, town building dept. ,
about the golf club's tearing down a storage building without a
permit. Resolved informally.
6. Demolition delay ordinance: (1) Gilman approved demolition of part
of a garage at 16 Lake St. (2) an unsafe "outbuilding" at 12 Field
Rd. may come up for consideration. No action taken as no official
inquiry has been made.
Next meeting: 8:30 July 6, after presentation at Band Concert.
