Guests: Jean Berry
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. A vote was taken to accept
the minutes of our previous meeting. Unanimous.
After checking with the Town Managers Office it was determined that, since
we had not requested funds in this years budget to be used for Out of State FUNDS
Travel, we are not permitted to use any of our money for that purpose. DENIED
Therefore our request for $305.49 to send Sara Chase to the Philadelphia
Architectural Historian meeting was denied. It was moved that we include
the amount of $200 in this years proposal for that purpose.
Reinhardt/Morehouse Unanamous.
The commission has been advised that the amount of $750 has been allocated
to us for the coming year. We are to return an itemized account as to how
we will use this amount.- It was voted to accept the budget as proposed
Reinhardt/Brown Unanimous. BUDGET
The Commission still holds an interest in the publishing of an Architectural
History for Lexington. We should consider this a matter requiring a Capital
expenditure. it was felt that we would be in a better position in another
year or so to proceed with this project and could better acess the cost at
that time and make a request for funds.
Sara Chase reported that Tom Lingel and Jean Berry from her course at Boston COURSE
University are working with her on the East Lexington District as a project. PROJECT
Word from the Mass. Historical Commission is that they do not view the East
Lexington area as being submitted as a District and we should consider separate EAST
applications. A discussion of the area followed. We are awaiting further LEXINGTON
information concerning the proposed changes in the island at Mass. Avenue and DISTRICT
Pleasant Street.
